Am I currently covered under the automatic insurance offered by IME Insurance Brokers as part of my AUSTSWIM membership?
An exclusive agreement between AUSTSWIM and Insurance Made Easy ensures that all employed and volunteer AUSTSWIM licensed teachers have coverage whilst engaged by a swim school. However, the insurance does not extend to cover any contractors working over 20 hours per week or earning in excess of $20,000 p.a. or if you are a Swim School Operator with personal clients that pay you for swim lessons.
If I take out a separate policy with IME Insurance Brokers can I teach swimming from more than one location?
Your own policy with Insurance Made Easy will give you the freedom to teach in back yard pools, your own home or hire lanes in a swimming complex. The cover offered extends Australia-wide for our individual clients and larger swim schools with multiple locations. However keep in mind that any instruction in open water will need to be referred to Insurance Made Easy.
I only work for a few months of the year. Can I take out a policy for less than 12 months?
Insurance Made Easy have negotiated the most competitive rates available. Unfortunately, all policies offered are for a minimum of 12 months. It is important to remember that the premium is calculated on a yearly average of the amount of work undertaken.
